Getting Ready For Hampshire Open Studio.
Updated: Jul 27
It's that time of year when panic starts to build over Hampshire Open Studios, which is always the last ten days of August. This will be my twentieth year, but with no catalogues to distribute, it feels very different. This year the whole thing is digital, which to me does not feel very "open" at all. So, after much soul searching, I have decided to open for two weekends:
August 22nd, 23rd 29th and 30th
From 11am-6pm and take bookings for any other times.
Hopefully, some will be brave enough to venture out, and I do have a very beautiful garden where visitors can wait if the studio does fill up.
I plan to have about 70 paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolour and mixed media, as well as mounted works, prints and cards.
I was inspired by the beauty of the South Downs on a hot day last week, and hope to develop some of my ideas into paintings. Looking back towards Winchester there are some great views, huge golden cornfields, and diverse wildflowers. So hopefully that will be my next body of work. But until then here's a colourful pallet knife French Market I've just finished.
